Young-Kyung Yu is a South-Korean violinist who is currently living in London and actively performing in recitals and chamber concerts in UK as well as abroad.

Young-Kyung started to play the violin when she was seven. One year after playing the violin she won the first prize in the Korea Young Musicians Music Competition.

She went to the Yewon School and Seoul Music High School which both are specialist music schools in Korea.

When she was in the first year student in Seoul Music High School, she met the famous violinist Rodney Friend in Korea when Mr. Friend was visiting Korea because of his recital tour. After Young-Kyung played in front of him, Mr.Friend liked Young-Kyung's performance and accepted her as his student. A few months after that, Young-Kyung came to England.

Then she entered the Royal College of Music with Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Scholarship. Since then she has been giving recitals and chamber concerts in Japan, Korea and UK.

Recent performances include concerts in Se-Jong Hall and Hyundai Concert Hall in Korea, and in St. John's Greenhill Church and St. James's Church Piccadilly in UK.
